In this video, we will checkout how to change your linux boot animation or splash screen using plymouth splash screen application. Plymouth is a splash screen animation developed by Ray Strobe of Redhat and was first introduced in Fedora 10 in 2008. Plymouth provides boot animation during system boot up and shut down and it also logs console text output to a log file. In this video, we will do a Live Demo showing to change your plymouth theme, 1) By installing a new theme from your linux repository 2) By installing it from a third party website ( gnome-look.org in this case) In the end, i will also show you a small python script that i wrote to automate the process of changing the plymouth theme.
